This is the fourth Triennial in Bruges that gives twelve national and international artist and architects a medieval stage to present their work in the public space. By bike or on foot we discover how they translate this years’ theme ‘Spaces of Possibility’, that wants to unlock underused open spaces in the city for the visitor as well as its inhabitants. The art route not only brings you past many of its touristic highlight, but also takes you to places that most tourist never see and that the people of Bruges often like to keep as their best kept secrets. Be amazed and enthusiast, walk in or take it in from a distance, talk about it or become silent, walk the trail with others or by yourself, experience it slow or quickly pass by on your way to work or home. Art in the public space feels welcoming and accessible to all and this is one of the strengths of the Bruges Triennial. Let me, as one of the official Triennial guides, take you behind the scenes of each installation and its artist and learn how each of them perceived this city and expresses this in his or her work. A walk through Bruges between the past and the present.

Generally my tours take two hours walking or biking through the city. The start, end and route of the tour can be customized to your needs and wishes. We can for instance pick you up at your hotel, the train station, your breakfast or lunch place. Each walk can be extented and sites you really do not want to miss can be included. Each walk can be further personalized according to your interest and background knowledge without any extra charge, making each tour a unique and personal experience. The contemporary art works of the Triennial can be integrated into any of my guided tours of Bruges.

As a local of Bruges I know all the ins and outs of the city.
