This is the third Triennial in Bruges that gives national and international artist and architects a medieval stage to present their work in the public space. By bike or on foot we discover how they translate this years’ theme TraumA, that balances between Bruges as a popular tourist destination and Bruges as it is experienced by its inhabitants behind the beautiful facades. The art route not only brings you past many of its touristic highlights, but also takes you to places that most tourists never see and that the people of Bruges rather keep as their best kept secrets. Be amazed and enthused, enter or admire from a distance, walk the trail with others or by yourself and experience it at your own pace. Art in the public space feels welcoming and accessible to all and this is one of the strengths of the Bruges Triennial. Let us take you behind the scenes of each installation and its artists and learn how they perceived the city and expressed this in their work. A walk through Bruges between past and present.

Generally my tours take two hours walking or biking through the city. The start, end and route of the tour can be customized to your needs and wishes. We can for instance pick you up at your hotel, the train station, your breakfast or lunch place. Each walk can be extented and sites you really do not want to miss can be included. Each walk can be further personalized according to your interest and background knowledge without any extra charge, making each tour a unique and personal experience.

As a local of Bruges I know all the ins and outs of the city. Visiting Bruges should feel like visiting a friends hometown knowing there is someone to answer all your questions, be them historical or practical. I will be more than happy to advise you and to answer any questions you may have about your stay in the city.
